" I have been riding with Sherrye for almost 9 years
and I think what bothers me the most is that people judge her by who they
see at the horse shows. That is Sherrye doing her job which is to help
her clients look and feel their best, while also acting as an AQHA
Professional looking out for the integrity of the industry which, lets face
it, is not always easy. At the end of the day, she needs to make a
living just like the rest of us and deserves the respect to make that
living. Few outside of Sable Oak know the real Sherrye. The
Sherrye that would give the shirt off her back to help someone reach their
goals. The fun loving Sherrye who enjoys watching movies, riding
runaway wagons down hills and white water rafting. The Sherrye who
spends 80+ hours a week in the barn, including holidays, to see that her
client's horses are treated with the best of care. Clients come and
clients go, but the important thing is that the right people in this
industry know and respect her."
~Heather Cote, friend and client.
"I have known Sherrye for many years now. When my daughter
Jen was abandoned by her trainer when she was twelve, just before the Youth
World Show, Sherrye dropped everything and went to her rescue. She did a
fantastic job too."
"Over the years, Sherrye
and I have worked on many projects and she always puts 110% into everything
she takes on. She is the kind of person you can depend on and pretty much
never says "No".
~Donna Rosciti, RE
Chairman, R6AQHA President
"Instead of worrying about what people say of you, why not spend
time trying to accomplish something they admire."
"Twenty five years ago, Sherrye and I attended our
first Congress together and worked for the NRHA as scribes. The hours
were long and the work was hard, but we thrived on it! Her continued
dedication is as expected. She is a credit to AQHA, a good friend and
a great person."
~Tammy Denlinger-Lickliter, BS
Equine Science Findlay College, Class of 1984
"They do not come any more dedicated to the Quarter Horse industry
than Sherrye Trafton. She has stood in the cold and rain checking in
horses at the Congress. As a paddock judge, she is fair and consistent
and she always has a smile and a friendly word for everyone." ~ Denny
Hales, Executive V.P. All American Quarter Horse Congress
R.I.P Denny, you are sadly missed......
